Why I Stopped Keynoting Events
To Focus On Byrdseed.TV

For a decade, I traveled the United States and spoke at education events. But nowadays, my focus is solely on developing Byrdseed.TV. Why on earth would I give up my career as a keynote speaker?

Well, to be blunt…

Talks don’t lead to change.

What do I mean? Well, consider doing this: survey a few dozen of your event’s past attendees and just ask this:
Which keynotes from our past events have changed your classroom?.

What you'll probably find is that few people can even remember who your keynote speakers were (despite the thousands of dollars it cost you to bring them in). Folks may remember a funny or emotional anecdote from some of the talks. But the chance that they actually use anything from a keynote is slim.

I say this as someone who gave keynotes for a decade. This was a depressing realization for me! Despite all of the effort I put into my talks (and despite how much organizations paid me), my keynotes rarely led to any meaningful change.

I want to be useful, not entertaining.

Sure, many people told me that they loved my talks. But when I pressed them further, asking how my talk impacted their classrooms, it turns out that they only remembered me because I was more entertaining than other speakers. Folks didn't really use much of anything I spoke about, even if they loved my talk and wanted me to speak again next year.

But here’s the thing…

This shouldn't be a surprise. We know that hour-long lectures are an absolutely awful way to teach. Humans simply cannot listen for more than a few minutes. So it’s no wonder that they can’t remember an hour-long talk even after a few days, let alone implement what the speaker talked about

Byrdseed.TV leads to change.

So that's why I gave up being a keynote speaker. And it's also why I am so proud of what I do now. Byrdseed.TV actually changes classrooms.

How do I know?

Teachers send me photos of student work all the time! I get to see how Byrdseed.TV actually impacts teachers' and students' daily lives. That simply never happened with the hundreds of talks I gave.

So, want to stop spending thousands on keynotes that people won’t remember? Start giving attendees something that will change their daily lives!

Byrdseed.TV Options

Buy A Year-Long License Rather Than A One-Hour Talk

I guarantee you that your guests would appreciate hundreds of immediately-useful lessons over yet another talk! See group pricing discounts here. A year-long license for your entire group isn’t much more than what organizations paid me to talk for like three hours.

Raise Some Money

If you’d like to use Byrdseed.TV to bring in money for your organization (and offer a small discount to your guests), I’ll open up the site during your conference so teachers can use Byrdseed.TV for a day or so.
